How DeskCare came about

I spent over 15 years working as a software engineer and engineering manager at tech companies. I know the industry from the inside: how software works, what goes wrong, and how to solve problems quickly and effectively.

At the same time, I kept noticing how people around me — friends, family, neighbours — kept running into the same everyday problems. A laptop that suddenly slows down. Wi-Fi that keeps dropping. Outlook not syncing. Or they needed a professional website but didn't know where to start.

That gap between technical knowledge and the people who need it most: that's where I want to build a bridge. DeskCare is my way of doing that — clear, personal help without jargon, for anyone who needs it.

Two pillars, one approach

DeskCare has two core services that might seem unrelated at first glance, but work perfectly together in practice:

  • IT help — for when something breaks or gets stuck. Computer, laptop, Wi-Fi, Outlook, hardware. Remote or on-site, fast and concrete.
  • Websites & software — for those who want a professional online presence. Websites that load fast, rank well in Google and turn visitors into customers. Also web apps and automation for small businesses.

In both cases, the approach is the same: short intake to understand what you need, honest proposal, then get it done. No vague quotes, no waiting, no surprises on the invoice.

How I work

I work by appointment and in agreed time blocks. That means I'm fully focused on your problem when we're working together — no half measures, no "I'll look at it later".

Remote help via a secure connection is in most cases the quickest and most practical solution. If that's not possible, I can come to you, or we arrange for you to bring your device — whatever works best for you.

I charge transparent rates: an hourly rate for IT help and fixed packages for websites. No hidden costs, no surprises afterwards.

Do you also work on-site?

Yes, for things that genuinely can't be solved remotely I can come to you in the Meetjesland and Greater Ghent area. In some cases you can also bring your device to me. We'll discuss what works best during the intake.

Do you work alone?

Yes, DeskCare is a sole proprietorship. You always deal directly with me — no helpdesk, no ticket queue, no rotating faces.

What if you can't solve the problem?

That's rare, but honesty comes first. If I find that a problem falls outside my expertise or that the cost isn't proportionate to the benefit, I'll say so immediately — without charging anything.

Can I call for a quick question?
