When is an upgrade still worth it?
An SSD upgrade is often worthwhile for much longer than people expect, especially when the laptop is still reliable but simply feels slow. Extra RAM or a fresh battery can also make a device perfectly usable again for work, study and home use.
If the motherboard, hinge, screen or overall condition is too weak, I will say so clearly. In that case, replacement may be smarter than spending money on a laptop that is likely to cause new problems soon.
