Decision guide

When to choose what?

Website builder

Makes sense when…

  • You're just starting and genuinely have no budget
  • Your website is purely informational (name, phone, opening hours)
  • You want to test something quickly before investing
  • You have your own design and copywriting skills

Be aware: this is a temporary solution, not a foundation to grow on.

Professional website

The logical choice when…

  • Your website needs to convince customers
  • You want to be found via Google
  • You want to stand out from competitors
  • You need a professional appearance
  • You want to spend less in the long run

Time to have it built

😬

You're embarrassed by your site

You'd rather send people to Instagram than your website. That's a signal.

🔇

Your site delivers nothing

Visitors arrive, but enquiries don't. That's a website problem.

📉

Competitors are picking up clients

Same service, better website — and they get the leads. That gap is fixable.

Frequently asked questions

Still have questions?

Can I switch from Wix to a professional website later?

Yes, but a lot gets lost. Content has to be migrated manually, URLs change (which affects your SEO), and it costs more than if you'd chosen a custom website from the start. Better to invest right the first time.

Is Wix really that bad for SEO?

Wix has improved in recent years, but professionally built websites consistently score better. The code is leaner, the loading time faster, and the technical structure is precisely tuned to your content.

What if I want to make changes later?

With a professional website, you arrange that through the developer. At DeskCare you can always get in touch for changes — per adjustment or via a maintenance plan.

How long does it take to have a website built?

On average 2–4 weeks for a standard website, depending on how quickly you provide feedback and content. Not much longer than properly finishing a Wix site.
